Planet Market is considered the first digital supermarket using smart solutions in the state through innovative smart techniques applied in its stores, which allow the consumer to shop and identify multiple brands of consumer goods through the scanner, or via mobile phone, and allow him to control the total budget for purchases, and guide him towards cuts on the same item, which will help him make good purchasing decisions.

“Later on, the Company will present advanced technologies to keep pace with the times, that include knowing the number of calories in each food commodity, providing health advice, and explaining how to prepare the product at home by application” Al Juwaini said, clarifying that: “Commodity prices will not rise in smart shops, and are even subject to drop, due to the low number of employees and subsequent operational cost”, estimating the industry growth rate of 20-25% on an annual basis.

Al Juwaini noted that the company started applying the smart stores’ concept in its Abu Dhabi stores, where consumers were given the opportunity to use scans in their purchases, and dispense with the cashier in some shopping cases as it will be available during the next six months.

“Smart Stores Expos 2017 constitutes an exemplary platform for investors to launch and showcase their latest innovations and products to buyers, manufacturers, retail experts and visitors from all around the world” Al Juwaini added.
